Function std::intrinsics::init [] [src]

pub unsafe extern "rust-intrinsic" fn init<T>() -> T
🔬 This is a nightly-only experimental API.   (core_intrinsics)

intrinsics are unlikely to ever be stabilized, instead they should be used through stabilized interfaces in the rest of the standard library

Creates a value initialized to zero.

init is unsafe because it returns a zeroed-out datum, which is unsafe unless T is Copy. Also, even if T is Copy, an all-zero value may not correspond to any legitimate state for the type in question.
